Details

The Epipremnum aureum, also known as Devil’s Ivy is one of the most popular and easy-care tropical houseplants, loved for its heart-shaped green leaves splashed with vibrant golden-yellow variegation. Grown as a hanging plant, its fast-growing trailing vines create a lush cascading display, making it perfect for hanging baskets, shelves, bookcases, and elevated planters. Hardy, adaptable, and wonderfully easy to grow, Devil’s Ivy is an excellent indoor plant for beginners, homes, offices, and established houseplant collections.

Light: Epipremnum aureum thrives in bright, indirect light but is highly adaptable and can tolerate lower light conditions. Brighter light helps maintain its attractive golden variegation, while in lower light the foliage may become greener. Avoid prolonged harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

Water: Allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, ensuring excess water drains away freely. Devil’s Ivy is relatively drought tolerant and will cope better with being slightly too dry than consistently wet. Reduce watering during the cooler winter months when growth naturally slows.

Steve and Lewis are so incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I always leave with a smile on my face and a bag full of really high quality plants and plant related paraphernalia. They only stock the best products, and both shops are 100% good vibes. I’d never shop for my houseplant needs anywhere else. Thank you both!!

The guys at Urban Tropicana always put themselves out and try to help, even though I live hundreds of miles away. If they have a sale or rescue boxes they make sure I can buy some as their plants are always of the highest quality and I really appreciate their customer service, second to none! One of these days I will get to see the fabulous plants in their shops in person.
