Details
Echinocactus grusonii, also known as the Golden Barrel Cactus, Golden Ball Cactus or Mother-in-Law’s Cushion, is an iconic desert cactus prized for its distinctive rounded shape, pronounced ribs and dense covering of golden-yellow spines. Its bold, symmetrical form becomes increasingly impressive as it matures, making it a fantastic statement cactus for sunny windowsills, conservatories, greenhouses and specialist cactus collections. Slow growing, drought tolerant and easy to care for, the Golden Barrel Cactus is an excellent choice for adding architectural interest to a bright indoor space.
Light: Echinocactus grusonii thrives in very bright light and benefits from several hours of direct sunlight each day. A sunny south- or west-facing window, greenhouse or conservatory is ideal. Plenty of light encourages strong, compact growth and helps maintain its characteristic dense golden spines.
Water: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. This drought-tolerant cactus stores moisture within its thick body and requires only infrequent watering. Water thoroughly during active growth, allowing excess water to drain away freely, and keep significantly drier during the cooler winter months to help prevent root rot.
Non toxic
Pot size: 12cm
